商学院全英授课项目团队组织第四次公开课

Full-English Teaching Team Organized the Fourth Open Class Demonstration

20221117日,商学院全英授课项目团队在长清校区文济楼217教室组织了别开生面的公开课活动。本学期承担全英教学任务的贾衍菊老师(主讲《消费者行为学》)、李海垒老师(主讲《消费者行为学》)、顾飞老师(主讲《员工关系管理》)、肖丁丁老师(主讲《战略管理》)以及新聘外教(主讲《战略管理》)分别进行了教学示范。示范课由全英教学项目负责人李斐斐老师主持,刘钻扩副院长出席,项东教授、学院教学督导组吴梦娜老师、李阳老师、王忠梅老师、潘华丽老师以及全英教学团队多位老师参加,参与讨论、分享和点评。

首先,刘钻扩院长充分肯定了老师们的辛勤付出。他表示全英团队齐心协力,迎难而上,通过一轮轮的打磨,教学效果不断提升。经过2年多的建设,全英课程已形成了立课、示范、督导、评教、培训的完整建设模式,学生数量不断增加。更重要的是,在英文小班中,越来越多的学生敢说、多读、多思考、多互动,学生给予全英课的信任和评价才是最宝贵的,金杯银杯不如学生的真实口碑。经济学院宁静波院长刚获得的全国教学创新一等奖课程就是一门双语课程,可见英文专业课在国家层面获得高度重视。作为国际化示范学院不可或缺的核心部分,全英团队的老师们要继续努力,全英课程大有可为。

在示范课环节,首先由贾衍菊老师做了精彩讲授。贾衍菊老师的教学节段为“Consumer Perception”。贾老师详细介绍了消费者感知、消费者触觉的相关知识。她的课程生动有趣,运用了实验的方法引导和启发学生思考问题,并积极与学生互动,激发大家用英文表达见解。此外,贾老师还详细讲解了bounded rationality理论创始人和相关专家学者的研究成果,帮助同学们梳理了理论的发展脉络,激发学科的科研兴趣。

李海垒老师的授课节段为“Introduction to Consumer Behavior。他在教学目标中明确指出了研究消费者行为的原因、中国消费者的特点以及不同类型的消费者区别等方面。李老师标准地道的英语发音受到了在场老师的一致称赞。他结合丰富有趣的案例,并运用全英教学视频,使课程变得轻松有趣。授课结束后,李海垒老师分享了自己的授课感悟。他认为全英授课可以提升自己英语交流水,平同时还可以丰富自身知识体系,是一个师生双向提高的过程。

顾飞老师的授课节段为Employee Participation and Involvement。她的课程教学主要围绕ER概述、ER的建立、ER的维护三方面展开。顾老师的教学内容循序渐进,逻辑清晰。顾飞老师合理利用板书,以板书带动学生的思维过程授课结束后,顾飞老师就教学过程中遇到的困难及解决方式与各位老师进行了分享。

肖丁丁老师的授课节段为Cross boundary competition and stakeholders”。肖老师从跨界竞争入手,详细分析了利益相关者的内涵、分类,从资本市场、产品市场和企业组织角度讲解了利益相关者对于企业发展的重要性。肖老师课前准备充分、逻辑严密,ppt图文并茂运用了大量的流程图,同时他还结合了中国市场的行业数据进行解构。肖老师在讲解结束之后也分享了自己在准备英文课中的艰辛和经验。

新聘外教老师展示了2授课节段,分别International competition strategy”XY理论”。他详细介绍了全球战略和跨国战略的差异及适用情景,在讲解XY理论时结合中国企业进行举例外教老师授课方式轻松有度,内容充实生动,语言发音标准地道。由浅入深、由点到面。在讲授过程中大量使用有趣生动的图片,图文并茂,结合实例理论知识进行了生动讲解。

项东教授及教学督导组组长吴梦娜老师对此次的授课效果进行了点评。项东教授赞赏各位老师语言的流畅性,建议大家向时态的精准性和发音精准性迈进。吴梦娜老师启发大家思考如何融合中英文课程特点,进一步提升英文比例,给中国学生讲好英文课程。最后,李斐斐老师强调了英文授课板书的重要性,提出将思政融入英语课堂,并融入学校的课堂改革大潮。她鼓励老师们多积累教学经验,形成有特色的教学成果,坚守教学初心,向高质量、特色化、融合化的课程目标努力。


Full-English Teaching Team Organized the Fourth Open Class Demonstration


On 17 November 2022, the Business School's Full-English Teaching Program team organized a special open class in Room 217, Wenji Building, Changqing Campus. Associate Professor Jia Yanju (lecturing on Consumer Behaviour), Associate Professor Li Hailei (lecturing on Consumer Behaviour), Teacher Gu Fei (lecturing on Employee Relations Management), Associate Professor Xiao Dingding (lecturing on Strategic Management) and the newly hired foreign teacher (lecturing on Strategic Management)gave their teaching demonstrations. The demonstration sessions were chaired by Associate Professor Li Fei Fei, Head of Full-English Teaching Program, in the presence of Vice Dean Liu Zuankuo, Professor Xiang Dong, the College's teaching supervisory team Associate Professor Wu Mengna, Li Yang, Wang Zhongmei, Pan Huali and a number of teachers from the English Teaching Team, who participated in discussions, sharing and comments.


Firstly, Vice Dean Liu fully affirmed the hard work of the teachers. He said that the English teaching team had worked together and risen to the challenge, and through rounds of polishing, the teaching effect had been continuously improved. After more than 2 years of construction, Full-English course has formed a complete construction mode of establishing classes, demonstration, supervision, assessment and training, and the number of students has been increasing. More importantly, more and more students dare to speak, read, think and interact in small English classes. The trust and good evaluation given by students to the Full English course is what is most valuable. The golden cup is not as good as the real word of mouth from students. The in National Teaching Innovation Competition, Professor Ning Jingbo, School of Economics, has just won the first prize winner in National Teaching Innovation Competition. Her entry was a bilingual course which shows that English courses are highly valued at the national level. As an indispensable core part of the Internationalization Demonstration College, the teachers of English team should continue to work hard, and the English course has great potential.


In the demonstration session, Associate Professor Jia Yanju gave an excellent lecture first. She was entitled 'Consumer Perception'. She introduced in detail about consumer perception and consumer touch. She used experimental methods to guide and inspire students to think about the issues, and actively interacted with students to stimulate them to express their opinions in English. In addition, Associate Professor Jia Yanju also explained in detail the research findings of the founders of bounded rationality theory and related experts and scholars, helping students to sort out the development of the theory and stimulate their interest in research in the subject.


Associate Professor Li Hailei’s session was entitled 'Introduction to Consumer Behavior'. He clearly stated the reasons for studying consumer behavior, the characteristics of Chinese consumers and the differences between different types of consumers. His standard and authentic English pronunciation was well received by the teachers. He combined rich and interesting case studies and used full English teaching videos to make the course easy and interesting. After the lecture, Associate Professor Li Hailei shared his insights. He believed that teaching in full English can improve your English communication skills and enrich your knowledge system at the same time, which is a two-way improvement process for teachers and students.


Teacher Gu Fei's session was entitled 'Employee Participation and Involvement'. She focused on ER overview, ER creation and ER maintenance. Her lectures were progressive and logical. She made good use of the board and used it to drive students' thinking process. After the lecture, she shared with the teachers the difficulties encountered during the teaching process and the ways to solve them.


Associate Professor Xiao Dingding's session was entitled 'Cross boundary competition and stakeholders'. Mr. Xiao started from cross-border competition, analyzed in detail the meaning and classification of stakeholders, and explained the importance of stakeholders to the development of enterprises from the perspective of capital market, product market and enterprise organization. His lecture was well prepared and logical, and his PowerPoint was illustrated with a lot of flow charts, and he also deconstructed it with industry data from the Chinese market. After the presentation, Associate Professor Xiao Dingding also shared his experience in preparing for the English class.


The newly recruited foreign teacher presented two lecture sessions, namely 'International competition strategy' and 'Theory X and Y'. He introduced in detail the differences between global and multinational strategies and their application scenarios, and gave examples of Chinese companies when explaining Theory X and Y. The foreign teacher's teaching style was relaxed and lively, and the language pronunciation was standard and authentic. He went from the simple to the deep, from point to point. He used a lot of interesting and vivid pictures and illustrations to explain the theoretical knowledge vividly with examples.


Professor Xiang Dong and Associate Professor Wu Mengna, head of the teaching supervision team of the College, commented on the effectiveness of the lessons. Professor Xiang Dong appreciated the fluency of the teachers' language and suggested that they should move towards precision of tense and pronunciation. Associate Professor Wu Mengna inspired everyone to think about how to integrate the characteristics of the Chinese and English courses, further improve the English ratio and teach the English courses well to Chinese students. Finally, Associate Professor Li Fei Fei emphasized the importance of board writing in English lectures and suggested the integration of Civics into the English classroom and into the school's classroom reform drive. She encouraged teachers to accumulate more teaching experience, to develop distinctive teaching outcomes, to stick to their original teaching intentions and to work towards the goal of a high-quality, distinctive and integrated curriculum.
